"Suicide is the eighth leading cause of death for all persons regardless of age, sex or race; the third leading cause of death for young people aged 15 to 24; and the fourth leading cause of death for persons between the ages of 10 and 14."  This is an excellent site by he highly reputable American Academy of Pediatrics, that very thoroughly addresses teen suicide.

"Focus Adolescent Services is an internet clearinghouse of information and resources to help and support families with troubled and at-risk teens."  Their mission is to provide information and resources to empower individuals to help their teens and heal their families.  Through education, self-awareness, self-help, and personal responsibility, families can rebuild their relationships and reconnect in positive and loving ways.  This site has many useful links that deal with the causes that lead to teen suicide.

This is a Website of the National Youth Violence Prevention Resource enter, which is a federal resource for professional, parents and youth working to prevent violence committed by and against young people.  Resources include fact sheets, documents, funding and conference announcements, statistics, research bulletins, and profiles of promising programs.  Many links provide access to other resources dealing with teen suicide.

This site is from the CDC's Youth Violence and Suicide Prevention Team of the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, and contains statistics on suicide in the United States emphasizing the high rate among the elderly and the young.  It also provides information on suicide prevention programs and publications of the CDC covering older adults, Native Americans, Black youth, and teens.  There are links to related sites and references.
