This acclaimed site is a selective guide to the best and most
authoritative resources on gay and lesbian politics, law and
policy. There are links to news sources, organizations,
government sites, legal resources, activist sites, and much more.
Human Rights Campaign
http://www.hrc.org/
As America's largest gay and lesbian organization, the Human Rights
Campaign provides a national voice on gay and lesbian issues.
The Human Rights Campaign effectively lobbies Congress ; mobilizes
grassroots action in diverse communities ; invests strategically to
elect a fair-minded Congress ; and increases public understanding
through innovative education and communication strategies. HRC
is a bipartisan organization
International
Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission

This site focuses on international human rights violations
against lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and those with HIV and AIDS.
It also provides links to gay and lesbian resources worldwide.
National Gay and
Lesbian Task Force http://www.thetaskforce.org/
Founded in 1973, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force is a
leading, progressive civil rights organization for gays. The
NGLTF describes itself as "part of a broader social justice
movement for freedom, justice and equality." The site
provides news and legislation links and information on the NGLTF
Policy Institute's programs and publications.

This is a resource of links to U.S. interest groups with
contrasting positions on gay rights, from Christian Anti-Gay Rights
organizations to the Freedom to Marry Coalition.

This site sponsored by a nonpartisan opinion research and civic
engagement organization helping Americans explore and understand
critical issues. Its many links provide excellent information
and statistics, as well as state by state laws.
Same-Sex Marriage: A
Selective Bibliography of the legal Literature
http://law-library.rutgers.edu/SSM.html
This is a newly updated source
for scholarly print and online resources about gay marriage from the Rutgers
University Law Library. The bibliography includes references to
articles, books, the DOMA (Defence of Marriage Act), and information
relating to specific states. A nice feature is the presentation into
"Articles Supporting Same-Sex Marriage" and "Articles Opposing
Same-Sex Marriage." Students will need to search for the articles in
ProQuest or other databases, but the first section includes direct
links to advocacy groups on the Web. This site is very current.
