Click on the "fiction" tab and search by author, title of play, or the keyword plays.  Plays listed are free of copyright and available free online.

Electronic Text Archives and Plays Online

An extensive list of links to plays, screenplays, and scripts that are available online (free).  This list is maintained by the reputable and hard-working staff at the WWW Virtual Library.

EServer Drama Collection

Complete texts of historical plays.  Complete texts of some Greek and Roman plays (Sophocles, Aristophanes, and Aeschylus).  Also a selection of historical plays from other periods up to the 19th century.

Guttenberg Project

Contains plays that re fee of copyright and available free online.  Search by author, tile of play, or the keyword(s) play(s).

Historical database of Folk Play Scripts

The "Traditional Drama Research Group" has compiled a vast collection of plays from England's past.  Good source for historical plays, featuring holiday events, Renaissance festivals, mummers and Robin Hood.

Justin's Theatre Links

A large collection of links to all aspects of theater, including history, practitioners, genres and styles, playwrights, scripts, companies, stagecraft, costumes, education and curriculum resources, and much more Searchable.  Maintain by the head of the drama department of Avila College, Melbourne, Australia.

Pro Play : Professional Stage Plays on the Web

Whole and partial scripts of plays available free on the Internet.  Available in .pdf format.  Both well-known and new playwrights. 

SimplyScripts - Movie Scripts and Screenplays

This site provides links to scripts including recent films.  Scripts include movie and screenplay scripts as well as television scripts.  A blog features updates to the site and new script links.  Links are provided to other script services.
