Everything for people concerned about smoking and nonsmokers' rights,
smoking statistics, quitting smoking, smoking risks, and other smoking
for Disease Control and Prevention
"Smoking & Tobacco Use" Website.
This site is authored and maintained by an ex-smoker. The site is
current and has many links and statistics.
Maintained by a specialized agency of the United Nations, World Health
Organization (WHO), provides current data on health conditions and needs,
particularly in developing countries.
A site maintained by the Argus Clearinghouse which gives many links including:
“Resources Page,” “Health Page,” “Documents Page,” “Culture
Page,” “Activism Page,” etc.
Tobacco Industry Videos
Collection contains audiotapes and videotapes related to the advertising,
manufacturing, marketing, sales, and scientific research of tobacco products as
well as material gathered and produced by tobacco control advocates.
Databases (Rio Hondo Students only) top
A goldmine of authoritative and up-to-date health information from the
world's largest medical library, The National Library of Medicine.
A service of the U.S. National Library of Medicine that includes more than
17 million citations from MEDLINE and other life science journals for biomedical
articles back to the 1950s. PubMed includes links to full text articles
and other related resources.
