Citizens for the Right to Know

The site explains different types of health plans, offers tips on how to choose a plan, and covers how to file a complaint.  It provides information on California legislation related to health care.  Also, it links to California Internet Formulary Reference where you can check if your plan covers a currently prescribed medicine.  The Formulary is searchable by health condition, drug name, and drug category.

Consumer@ction - Health Care/HMO Publications

Text of booklets which advise on HMOs, and Medicare and HMOs.  Advice on how to handle an HMO plan, and links for other sources on HMOs. -- Health Insurance/HMO's

This website serves as an "information clearinghouse to help you research any topic related to fairness."  The sire features recently published articles for which links are provided.  The site is weighed toward political and legal issues of topics featured.

HMO Help Center

The Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) oversees all HMOs in California, as well as other health plans.  Links are provided to various health plans, as well as topics concerning questions and issues about HMOs.

The report "Covering the Uninsured" examines and details various topics within the larger issue of health coverage in the United States.  The report contains links to Web sites, as well as a bibliography on the topics of health care and health insurance.
