The information is provided in three languages (English, Spanish, and
French). This site contains basic information about the organization, its

MADD:
Mothers Against Drunk Driving

MADD is a nonprofit organization dedicated to finding solutions to the
problems of drunk driving and underage drinking and supporting the victims
of these senseless crimes. The Web site describes MADD’s victim support
services and youth programs. Alcohol-related facts and statistics are
offered for teenagers. The myths about alcohol are also listed and
explained. In addition, the site contains a great deal of statistical
information, including drunk driving fatalities by state, and legislation by
state.

NOFAS:
National Organization of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome

NOFAS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating birth defects
caused by alcohol consumption during pregnancy. It uses a multicultural
approach in its prevention, educational, and healing programs. This is an
excellent site for those who seek general information about fetal alcohol
syndrome. The site contains definitions of and information about FAS, a
section on effective strategies for working with and disciplining children
affected by FAS, and descriptions of the organization’s programs and
projects. A number of good statistics are included in the resources section
of the site.

This site is provided by the National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and
Drug Information. It includes a link to alcohol facts and publications and
lists prevention program planners.

addictions.". The site provides information for parents and youth about
drinking. The NCADD site provides a definition of alcoholism and a link to
“Facts About Alcoholism and Other Drug Addiction.” The fact sheets
contain statistical sources.

A site provided by the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA),
located in Bethesda, Maryland. This site includes the full-text of such
publications as Alcohol Alert as well as the full text fro useful pamphlets
such as Alcoholism: Getting the Facts. There is also a section of "Frequently Asked Question: (FAQs) about alcohol abuse and dependence
(alcoholism).
