Keywords and concepts describe the main idea(s) of
your topic and enable you to focus your research.
Ask Yourself:
What are the keywords or concepts of my topic?
Then Do This:
• Jot down (make notes of) the terms that you identify
as keywords and concepts.
Ask Yourself:
What are the related terms of each keyword and concept?
Then Do This:
• Develop related terms. Check dictionaries, thesauri,
and general or subject
encyclopedias. For additional assistance, ASK A
REFERENCE LIBRARIAN.
• Underneath each keyword or concept write related
term(s).
