Online Catalogs

The Library Catalog is available by clicking on the
link from the home
page of the Library Web site. The Library Catalog is where you search for books,
videos, journals (but not the articles within journals - that is what an
online database is for!), music CD's and other material in our collection.
Other library catalogs from nearby
public and university libraries are also accessible from
this page.
Remember that all Angelinos can register
and obtain a library card at the downtown
Los Angeles Public Library (LAPL),
whether
you live in the city itself or in the county.
The
Central Library is located downtown at 630 5th St. You can search the
holdings of all branch libraries through a single search interface and the
catalog is also available in Spanish!
Your LAPL library card
will also entitle you to
use
the HUNDREDS of databases to which LAPL subscribes.
The
County of Los Angeles
(CoLAPL) is also a system of public libraries, and there are many nearby
branches -- La Mirada,
La Puente, Hacienda Heights, South El Monte, Walnut, Rosemead, and others.
The catalog provides access to the 7+ million volume collection that
include books, magazines, newspapers, microfilm, videos, laserdiscs,
audiocassettes, and compact discs.
Finally, the
MELVYL
catalog available through the California Digital Library, contains the
combined holdings of all the University of California libraries as well as
the California State Library in Sacramento.
