How do I get an email account?

If you are a registered student of Rio Hondo College, your AccessRio account gives you the ability to send and receive e-mail and create your own personal address book. To create your AccessRio email account, click on the AccessRio logo and follow the directions. Your new Rio Hondo email address will end with @my.riohondo.edu

What if I already have an email account with Yahoo or gmail or another email provider? Do I have to use my Rio Hondo College email account?

Your College email account is a lifetime, additional address that you can use to communicate with anyone; it's not just for school. Having this College address identifies you to your instructors as a Rio student and not just someone called "madMaxxxxxx"! The address is particularly useful when you have to present a professional or formal demeanor, as when you use it in your résumé.

When you create your account, you can opt to forward your AccessRio email to the email box that you most often use, whether that's Yahoo, gmail, Hotmail, or some other provider. This may help you control the number of email boxes that you have to check.
