Downloading questions
[text-only
version for printing]
1. What do I have to do to download something from the
Internet?
You will need a formatted floppy disk.
- Place the disk in the A: drive. Click on FILE, then SAVE AS.
- Give your file a name (or just accept what it is already called in the
FILE NAME box).
- In the SAVE AS TYPE box you can save the file either as a text or as
an HTML file. Text is a plain vanilla ascii file, html will preserve the
look of the Web page. Not all images will be saved, however.
- Lastly, change the SAVE IN box at the top to 3 1/2" Floppy (A:).
This will save the file to your disk.

2. Where can I print up my downloaded file?
- You can print WORD and EXCEL documents from the Library Internet
Workstations. To do this you need to have a copy card with enough credit
on it to complete your job. To determine the number of pages in your
document, click on "Print Preview" under FILE and it will show
a thumbnail of each page.

facilities, click
